A Mile In His Shoes--DVD Review and Giveaway
I have a new family friendly movie to tell you all about called, "A Mile in His Shoes."
Only a miracle can help baseball coach Arthur "Murph" Murphy (Dean Cain) and his losing minor league baseball team. As Murph sets out to recruit new talent for the team, he stumbles upon Mickey (Luke Schroder), a young farmer with an incredible pitcher's arm. However, Mickey's parents are reluctant to allow him to join the team because he has Asperger's syndrome, a form of autism. Murph convinces Mickey's parents that life in the minor league will benefit their unique son, but he doesn't realize just how much his new recruit will help the team's game and, more importantly, their spirit. Based on the true story, A Mile in His Shoes is an inspirational film that celebrates faith, determination and the power of friendship.
Those who read my blog know I am a big fan of family friendly movies, and this movie did not disappoint. The trailer makes it look like this movie is about an underdog team that begins to win, but it is so much more than that. I like how the movie portrays the topic of Asperger's Syndrome in a respectful way and in a way that shows kids (and adults) that being different than other people is okay and everyone should be treated with kindness and respect. I also like how the movie shows different kinds of growth in Mickey, the coach, the teammates, and Mickey's parents.

3 Favorites Thursday--Valentines
It was great to take a nice long break from crafting and blogging for the holidays, but it is time to get back into the swing of things! This week's 3 favorites focuses on Valentine's Day. I am hoping that by sharing these Pinterest pins I will get motivated to make all three of them. They are adorable!
I would love to make this Valentine garland and hang it in my window.
I wonder where I could find a cute frame to make this next pin...Ikea?
I don't have kids, but I think even grown-ups would love to get a "You ROCK" Valentine. ;)
