Laura Story CD Open Hands Review and Giveaway

I first heard of Laura Story when her song "Blessings" became popular.  Hearing the story behind the song really touched me. Here is a link to the backstory  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDiTuSLSJB8 .  That song is still on my favorites playlist.

I was super excited to hear Laura had a new album coming out called Open Hands.

One of the things I love about Laura's songs is that it feels like there is a whole lot of thought put into them and why she chooses the lyrics and themes that she does.  I loved hearing the backstory on this album too!

Here are a few things she had to say about the album:


"We have this picture all the way through the Scriptures of all these great leaders in this process of surrendering everything.  What the Lord is asking them is not, 'You need to hold on tighter.  You need to manage this better.'  What the Lord asks us is to surrender," she offers, "It's about learning to live with open hands, learning to live life in this constant state of swing, 'Lord, my life is Yours.  My time is Yours.  My resources are Yours.  All of this is Yours.  Do what You will.'"
“We never get to a point where we can do life apart from complete and total daily dependence on Jesus,” Story admits. “The irony is the less control we have, the more peace we have and the more, I would even say, success and joy we find. It’s a contrary picture to what the world tells us, but it’s gaining through letting go.”

WOW!!  I feel like I have been on a journey of just letting go and giving God everything so it makes me love this album even more.

As I was listening to the songs I kept saying, "This one is definitely my favorite!"  and then the next song would come on and I was like,  "No!  THIS one is my favorite!"  Over and over again!  It isn't often that an album is packed full of all such good songs!
