I know it has been quite a while since I have been around. Life has been crazy busy lately and stamping, chatting, and blogging haven't been high on my priority list. I still can't scan my cards in yet, but I was really missing writing on here. I thought I would share some food for thought with a quote. I would love to hear your thoughts on this quote.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others"
This quote is by Marianne Williamson, but was used by Nelson Mandela in his inaugural speech in 1994.

hmmm...I think there's soo much to that! In High School it was very hard to be a P.K. Some of my friends didn't attend church and they would always hush up when I came around, or they'd slip and say naughty words and then immediately say "oh, sorry" to me. I just wanted to fit in, not live up to the potential God expected of me, so I played it down and my actions and eventually my heart changed toward them and the world. In college, I was scared of the unknown after I would get out, and I didn't have the confidence to be what I was striving for, so I set things in my way on purpose so I would fail. That quote says it all. 15 years later, I'm married with kids and I pray that I'm adequate enough to instill in my kids the confidence, self awareness and realize their potential as God's children to do what the Lord has planned for them. After all, if we stand firm in Christ and have faith that can move mountains, we are capable of anything. :)
